First Night Raleigh’s Explosion of the Arts

It’s an explosion of the arts once again this year as Raleigh celebrates the New Year with a lowering of the acorn. Since 1990, Artsplosure has hosted First Night Raleigh in downtown Raleigh. The event starts on December 31st with activities for kids who can take rides on the ferris wheel or the pirate ride, before ending at 7PM with kids fireworks. First Night Raleigh brings more than 100 performances and events throughout 35 venues for patrons to enjoy.

First Night Raleigh is one of if not the most affordable event you can find around with so many different options. The price of one ticket will give you access to more than 100 things to do, where there is something for everyone ranging from Birds of Avalon, African American Dance Ensemble, Bebop Blues and All That Jazz, North Carolina Opera Singers, Truly Anointed Gospel, Compton & Newberry, The High Seas, Jack the Radio, XOXOK, Comedy Worx, Raleigh Little Theatre Storytellers, and so many more.

But you can keep it moving with fun activities such as art putt, a miniature golf course, and yoga with Blue Lotus. How about capturing the end of the year with a wonderful picture from TapSnap interactive photo booth or ballroom dancing? Or maybe you just want to take in a short time to relax? You can do that and add to all of the excitement at the rejuvenation station with Angela Savitri. Maybe you just want to take in a movie by viewing one or all of the films being presented like Changeover  & There’s My Angel.

There is no better way than to end the New Year with so many choices of things to do than First Night Raleigh. It’s an event that will keep you coming back year after year.
