Eric Rowe Signs With The Carolina Panthers

Eric Rowe’s one of the NFL’s most underappreciated safeties during his career so far. He was an integral member of the New England Patriots dynasty during the Tom Brady era, where he played for two Super Bowl-winning teams. Rowe played college football for the University of Utah, where he was a standout cornerback and safety. For his career at Utah, Rowe started 45 of 47 games and had 261 tackles, three interceptions and 1.5 sacks. With the forty-seventh pick in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles selected Rowe. However, what he accomplished in Philadelphia would be peanuts compared to what he accomplished in New England. Rowe established himself as a great player for the Philadelphia Eagles, but in New England, he found his status as an NFL legend.

Rowe left New England for Miami, and on March 14, 2019, the Miami Dolphins signed Rowe to a one-year, $3.50 million contract that includes a signing bonus of $500,000. In Miami, Rowe’s playing for new Dolphins’ head coach Brian Flores, a linebackers coach with the New England Patriots. Rowe had an impressive stint in Miami, where he had three interceptions and 299 tackles in his four years there. Now, Rowe finds himself in Carolina as he recently agreed to terms with the Carolina Panthers. Rowe’s a member of a secondary with Jaycee Horn and Jeremy Chinn, two of the NFL’s best defensive backs, and is part of a defense with Brian Burns, one of the NFL’s best pass-rushers. Now, Rowe has a chance to contribute to a rebuilding Panthers defense with his experience as a veteran to some of the NFL’s best young defensive players, and everything in his career certainly helps the Carolina Panthers organization feel better about him, helping these young star defensive players.
