Recently, the Carolina Panthers traded receiver D.J. Moore to the Chicago Bears in exchange for the first overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. Interestingly enough, the Carolina Panthers have a new wide receiver named D.J., except his last name is Chark. Chark played college football for the LSU Tigers where he caught sixty-six catches for 1,340 yards and at the conclusion of the draft process was projected to be a second round pick by NFL draft experts and scouts. He was ranked the fifth best wide receiver prospect in the draft by DraftScout.com, was ranked the sixth best wide receiver by Scouts Inc., and was ranked tenth best wide receiver by Sports Illustrated.
The Jacksonville Jaguars drafted Chark with the 61rst pick in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Chark impressed and was selected to the 2019 Pro Bowl. Chark signed with the Detroit Lions for $10 million on a one-year contract where he continued to impress and before he left Jacksonville, he was in the top 10 in Jaguars franchise history in receiving touchdowns (#7t), yards per reception (#5), and 100-yard games (#7t). This past year in Detroit he caught thirty passes for 500 yards and four touchdowns. Chark recently signed a one-year deal with the Panthers and is bringing his talents to Carolina and will for sure be a number one option at the wide-receiver position and is a vital piece in the rebuilding process for the franchise.
