In the U.S., over 75% of women dye their hair, and 72% of women consider changing their hair
color with the seasons, with Fall being the peak season for hair coloring. Despite hair coloring
being the most popular during Fall, you can still find a way for your hair to stand out this season.
Here are the top three eye-catching hair colors for the 2025 season.

1. Copper
Nothing says Fall like a red hue, and copper hair color is the perfect way to stand out and stay
in trend this season. This hue is typically a less intense shade of orange or red with golden
undertones like bronze and gold. Copper is a unique color that captures the essence of Fall
while remaining striking. Celebrities who have rocked the copper color, include Chappell Roan
and SZA.

2. Jewel Tones
For those looking for an unnatural, vibrant hair color that still fits into the season, jewel tones are
the perfect fit. Jewel-toned hair consists of colors that are deep and rich, but bold in color.
Potential choices include sapphire, emerald, amethyst, aquamarine, eggplant, and fuchsia. Jewel-toned hair is perfect for those looking to make a statement with their mane while maintaining a
color palette that fits the Fall season. Celebrities who have donned jewel-toned hair include Dua
Lipa and Billie Eilish.

3. Bleach Blonde
A bleach blonde hair color will ensure its wearer stands outs against the typical darker color
palette of autumn. This platinum or creamy-hued hair is achieved by lightening one’s hair with
chemicals. While bleaching may also be required for jewel-toned or copper hair, the bleach
blonde solely maintains its blondeness with this color choice. Multiple celebrities have chosen to
go bleach blonde including Kim Kardashian and Camilla Cabello.

What Matters Most is What Color is Right For You
No matter which color you choose, the key to the perfect hair color for 2025 suits your personality and lifestyle, making you feel more confident and beautiful. Whether you choose a bold or subdued color, the perfect hair color is out there for you.

A marketing strategy is crucial for any business’s growth and long-term success.
Despite its importance, many small business owners have difficulty with creating and
implementing effective marketing strategies. According to a 2024 report by Constant Contact,
over 73% of small business owners aren’t confident their marketing strategy is contributing to
their business goals, with 60% of them stating their biggest challenge when marketing is finding
new customers.

To overcome this hurdle, business owners must focus on two key objectives in their marketing
strategy: brand recognition and brand awareness.

Brand recognition refers to how consumers remember your business through what they come
across visually or auditorily. Brand awareness is a consumer’s deeper understanding of one’s
brand, like potentially being able to list products from your business, and “sticking in your
customers mind” according to Cision.

Achieving brand recognition and eventually brand awareness is crucial to acquiring new
customers. Brand recognition builds trust and familiarity with consumers, while brand awareness
strengthens the customer-business relationship, leading to deeper loyalty and engagement.

Diamond Exchange Houston owner Gilad Mor said brand awareness and brand recognition are
the most important marketing objectives for one’s business, no matter what strategies they
implement.

Diamond Exchange Houston is a Houston based jewelry store specializing in loose diamonds,
engagement rings, and custom jewelry.

“Get your name out there within the platforms that work best for your business, whether it’s
visual or word of mouth or print media,” Mor said. “It’s all about getting your name out there in
front of clients and getting brand recognition so that way you’ll be memorable.”

When it comes to choosing the correct marketing platform, it depends on what the business
owner is trying to promote or sell, Mor said.

As a jewelry store owner trying to sell a high end product, diamond jewelry, most of the company’s marketing is done visually, Mor said.

Diamond Exchange Houston’s key marketing platforms consist of Google, social media content, and word of mouth marketing. Google is the company’s top platform, specifically the company’s
business profile, Mor said.

“Google is the number one, since a lot of people go on Google and they look for new
businesses, and they also do a lot of their research on it,” Mor said. “The more we come up on
Google with our website and with our [social media pages] … that’s ideal reach for us.”

Diamond Exchange Houston primarily uses Facebook, Instagram and TikTok as their social
media platforms, with Instagram being the most impactful for their target audience due to its
visual nature, Mor said.

Skinimini Beauty social media manager Hannah Henry, said Instagram is also the most
impactful for her mini Korean skincare retailing business, based on their metrics and user
engagement. Henry said the brand also uses Tik Tok and Pinterest.

Skinimini Beauty is a Korean skincare retailing business specializing in mini Korean skincare. It
serves as a middle ground for people to discover new mini products or new Korean skincare
products that they’re interested in, but not quite ready to commit to a full size product just yet.

Henry said brand awareness is an important factor when implementing paid promotions or
advertising, because if consumers don’t have the ability to know the brand exists, they cannot
shop from them and consumers may turn to bigger suppliers due to their lack of awareness.

“When you’re pushing out promotions for the purpose of brand awareness, it allows people to
know that there are other businesses out there that could potentially provide them with an
experience or a product that they’re actually looking for, rather than settling for something that
they’ve seen at a larger supplier.” Henry said.

Tracking the success of marketing strategies is crucial for long term success, it can determine
the effectiveness of the marketing, and whether brand awareness or recognition was achieved.

Diamond Exchange Houston uses multiple tools to track their marketing success, including
Google Analytics, Google Map position tracking, Ahref to track leaders and WhatCoverts to
track how many calls the business receives and what platform they came from.

Henry said when it comes to metrics tracking she uses the in-house tracking provided by
Instagram and Tik Tok. Henry then analyzes the data and runs reports herself to ensure
Skinimini Beauty is meeting goals and staying consistent with engagement.

Henry said tracking metrics and knowing who your target audience is a key piece of advice for
marketing ones business.

“Really understanding who you’re trying to capture, what kind of content they consume,” Henry
said. “With that comes industry research … What is their socioeconomic status? What do they
do for a living? What are their interests?,”

Mor said business owners should remember to not be discouraged by a month of slow sales or
a failed marketing strategy.

“Keep going and fighting for your name to be out there,” Mor said. “If you’re consistent, and if
you’re honest with your client, then eventually you’ll get there.

Protective hairstyles are hairstyles where one’s hair is tucked away from the body with the ends
hidden. These hairstyles are meant to protect natural hair from external damage and promote
hair growth.

Protective hairstyles are especially crucial during the winter months, according to hairstylists
Francine Kargbo, owner of The Hair Guru. Kargbo said winter weather can strip moisture
from one’s hair, causing dryness and even breakage.

“Protective hairstyles, like braids and twists, help lock in the moisture by reducing exposure to
the weather,” Kargbo said. One can choose from a range of protective hairstyles like braids, twists, locks, sew-ins, bantu knots, ponytails, and wigs.

Prettier Profiles owner and hair stylist Daijah Nabors said the two most important factors clients
should consider when choosing a protective style are their lifestyle and personal skill level when
styling their hair.

“K-tip [extensions], while they can be protective … there’s more maintenance you’re having to
do to your hair, “ Nabors said. “If you like to work out a lot and you sweat a lot from your head,
[K-tips] would not be conducive to your hair growth or protection.”
Kargbo said an important factor to consider when choosing a protective style is whether one’s
hair is heat-trained or not.

“One of my favorite protective hairstyles is sew-in leaveouts, which is your natural hair
is out at the top, and then the rest of your hair is covered … it’s braided down,” Kargbo said.
“You don’t want to do a leave out if … your natural hair is not heat-trained yet, because it
could cause heat damage.” For a client with basic hair skills, Nabors would recommend protective styles like braids, or, those more sensitive to head touch, and locks.

“I would recommend locks because your hair is completely put away. You get retwists every
month to two months, and you do not have to get your hair done often. You’re
simply just shampooing it and conditioning it, ” Nabors said.

Kargbo said her current favorite braid styles are bohemian braids and Fulani braids. She said
with boho braids and general protective styling, it is important to invest in one’s hair.
“The most important thing … investing in the quality of hair that you’re buying,” Kargbo said.
“For wigs, they’re way more pricey, because you have to make sure that you’re buying
quality wigs.”

Nabors said her favorite protective hairstyle is wigs because they provide complete coverage of
one’s hair and some allow for easier removal to moisturize one’s scalp and do other treatments.
Nabors said she recommends finding wigs from a hairstylist who creates custom ones for the
client.

Kargbo said when it comes to wig maintenance, she recommends the Wig Dealer melting spray
as a product when one’s lace begins to lift on their wig. Kargbo said common mistakes people make when implementing a protective hairstyle are over washing, excessive heat, and skipping moisturizing.

“It’s very easy to forget to moisturize your hair when you have a protective hairstyle in,” Kargbo
said. “Even though you have a protective hairstyle and you still have to care for your natural
hair, like oiling your scalp every night when you have your braids in.” Nabors said she recommends moisture for protective styles as well, specifically with a leave-in conditioner, and through shampooing and conditioning one’s natural hair.

“Whether that be a wig, braids, K-tips, a sew-in, you’re always going to want to make sure you’re
moisturizing your leave out if it’s a sew-in, your extensions, or the braid under your extensions
with a leave-in conditioner,” Nabor said. Nabors said water is the ultimate form of moisture.
“Water is the ultimate form of moisture, not just on your hair, but within your body,” Nabors said.
“So consuming enough water, taking your vitamins …what you put in your body comes out of
your body.

Hair specialists across Houston are filling this gap by educating others on what to do and not do with their hair care.

Planet Curls salon owner and curly hair specialist Gerri D. Curtis said healthy hair starts at the scalp and is the key to healthy hair.

“If your scalp isn’t healthy, your hair will not be healthy,” Curtis said. “It’s more internal as well. So what you put in your body is going to show with your hair.” Curtis said using clean products is crucial when maintaining healthy hair, with her salon carrying clean hair products like Inner Sense and Curly World.

Curtis said when clients are trying to establish a healthy hair care routine, the salon will recommend an Inner Sense product called the Pearl Spa Treatment involving a scalp scrub, detox mask, and a deep hydrating conditioner with steam. Clean hair products are goods that do not use synthetic ingredients or damaging chemicals, but instead use ingredients that overall promote hair health, according to Goldie Locks.

“Every client that I get when they sit in my chair, I tell them that they have to become an ingredient freak, look at the back of your bottle, see what’s in it,” Curtis said.

Curtis also said to continue reading the bottle of products even after a long time of usage to watch out for potential ingredient changes, with one ingredient to avoid being sulfate.

“A lot of people think that they have an oily scalp, but in reality, they’re using shampoo that has sulfate in it, and they’re just drying their hair. They wash their hair… and it just continues to be oily, Curtis said. “If you would just stop washing your hair so much and use a sulfate-free cleanser, your scalp will regulate.”

Prettier Profiles founder and hair stylist Daijah Nabors also uses clean hair products at her healthy hair care-based salon, including her completely vegan, unreleased line. Nabors said the first step to starting a healthy hair care routine however is assessing, or “dating” one’s hair, paying attention to its reactions to products, and getting to know it before creating a regimen.

“Pay attention to the ingredients in the products that you’re using and see the similarities amongst those products,” Nabors said.

Autumn Ayri, owner of Lady Ayri Natural Hair Care salon and natural hair care specialist, said that consultations with several salons are the first step to establishing a healthy hair care regimen to put clients on the right track, with every client’s hair needs being different. Ayri’s all-natural vegan-based hair care line Kinky Secrets Beauty, is named after everyone’s hair being unique with different requirements.

“It’s called What’s your Kinky Secret? Because everyone’s hair is different. So what one person may need, someone else may not … it’s tailored to what you need and what you want.” Ayri said a common mistake she often sees clients make is going home and lathering oil products mistakenly as moisturizers, as well as finding the correct amount of product to use.

“So now, within my resume, … they’re going home with the product [and] I told them the right amount to use, or how to just break it up in sections,” Ayri said.

Nabors said one should try to avoid excessive heat on their hair and excessive force, and to make sure they’re using the correct tools on their hair type.

“If you have thick hair, I wouldn’t recommend a thin-tooth comb. I would recommend a wide-tooth comb for detangling your hair,” Nabors said. “You don’t want to use tools that are incompatible with your hair.”

Ayri said that hair trims should be done once a quarter or potentially twice a year, depending on each person’s hair. Ayri said healthy hair care is all about finding the right salon.

“Getting back on track is hard, but it’s also easy to do,” Ayri said. “It all goes back to finding that salon that works for you and with you, and finding a good regimen and sticking to it.”

Downward dog just got a lot more literal with the hottest new wellness trend: puppy yoga.
“Puppy yoga” is one of the hottest new wellness trends that has taken over the internet. It takes
the calm experience of a yoga class, often at a beginner’s level, and adds an exciting twist by
releasing puppies during the session to play with attendees and fellow fur balls.
Depending on the host organization, these yoga classes can consist of multiple types of canines,
from ten week old golden doodles, to a loveable group of adoptable rescue dogs.
But how is this wellness trend actually good for your health?

Here are the top three reasons:

1. Puppy Yoga can help reduce stress

The combination of the relaxing nature of yoga and the playful nature of a dog can help reduce
human stress levels. Despite the chaos associated with a litter of puppies, their comical antics
during class can help participants worry less about how well they are doing at yoga, and take
themselves less seriously. Scientifically, the act of even petting a dog is shown to reduce stress,
specifically the cortisol hormone, and increase oxycontin, the bonding hormone, according to
John Hopkins Medicine.

2. Classes encourages socialization, for humans and canines

A puppy yoga class can be the perfect place to find a fellow animal lover friend. Most likely,
the other attendees also have a soft spot for furry friends. The puppy’s friendly attitudes, and
chaotic running, can also help “break the ice” of an awkward introduction. This positive social
aspect of puppy yoga extends to the furry friends themselves. Socialization is crucial for dogs
around 3-14 weeks, it helps dogs develop into friendly adults.

Puppies need to socialize just like humans do, whether it is through horseplay or pets. During
most sessions, classes mark out time for participants to just play with the dogs, making it the
perfect time for attendees to socialize with both humans and puppies.

3. Puppy yoga is a unique way to practice mindfulness

The practice of mindfulness, or being completely in and aware of one’s present, can be a
challenging task. While practices like yoga are already a popular way to implement mindfulness,
adding some fluffy friends to a session is an entertaining and unique way to deepen one’s
mindfulness. It’s hard to not stay present when there is a hoard of puppies running loose!
Puppy yoga is more than a temporary trend.

Puppy yoga is a fun way to combine care for one’s physical and mental health through a fur ball
filled hour long class. Puppy yoga is spreading nationwide and cementing itself from trend to a
lighthearted activity for yoga lovers, dog lovers, and those looking for a paw-fect place to find
positivity.
